Editorial Studio Maternity Shoot on Long Island

Sydney & Travis are expecting a beautiful baby girl in January and I had the absolute honor of capturing their studio maternity session! I was absolutely obsessed with every detail of this stunning shoot. Be Beautiful Studio in Oakdale, New York did hair and makeup and provided the studio. As a Long Island maternity photographer, I always recommend a studio for winter sessions! A huge plus of this studio is the incredible natural light it provides and the neutral backdrop.

It’s always a good idea to bring multiple outfits and beautiful props for your shoot! Sydney brought different bouquets of flowers, a picnic basket, 3 different outfits, ultrasounds and I brought my polaroid camera!

Capturing a beautiful editorial maternity shoot in a stunning neutral and well-lit studio offers a unique blend of elegance and simplicity. The soft, diffused light beautifully highlights the expecting mother’s silhouette, while the serene color palette of beiges and whites creates a timeless backdrop. Each pose is thoughtfully designed to accentuate the beauty of motherhood, showcasing the gentle curves of the baby bump while allowing for natural expressions to shine through. The careful arrangement of props enhances the airy feel of the shoot, transforming the space into a tranquil haven that truly celebrates this special time in a family’s journey.

Shooting Polaroid film during your maternity session adds a unique and nostalgic touch to the experience, capturing the fleeting moments of this special time in a tangible format. The instant gratification of seeing the image develop right before your eyes creates an intimate atmosphere, allowing for genuine expressions and connections. Each photograph tells a story filled with emotion and anticipation, showcasing the beauty of your journey into motherhood. The soft, dreamy quality of Polaroid film lends itself perfectly to the glow of pregnancy, resulting in a collection of images that feel both timeless and personal. The tactile nature of these prints invites you to hold your memories close, making them a cherished keepsake for years to come.
